Tag ~ We're It!

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

Tania of Indo Bay Textiles came up with the genius idea of starting a game of tag with fellow exhibitors over at papernstitch. I loved playing tag growing up .. all the running, screaming, giggling. We immediately jumped on board .. thankfully with less running although I must say there was some screaming and giggling when we got picked! We couldn't help it ..

A quick roundup of the game so far has ...
Indo Bay Textiles who tagged ...
The Ardent Sparrow who tagged ...
love.laugh.believe who tagged ...
Monkey Mind Design who tagged ...
P.S. it's in the details who tagged ...
A Very Story who tagged ...
PrettynPreppy (woot!) who tagged ........ a Quick Study!!

The joy of being picked turned into a bit of stress when we had to sit down and choose one and only one shop to tag. There are so many great shops at papernstitch who are participating but when we came across Zoe's shop, a Quick Study, the decision was made instantly. It was the navy and green nautical notebook that completely did us in ~ LOVE it! After checking out the items in her papernstitch shop, we headed over to see what other goodies we could find in her Etsy shop and fell in love even more. She's got fun note cards and calling cards and these great organizational tools ... who couldn't use a bit more organization in their life. What we love most about her shop is how fun and bright her products are. Don't believe me ... check out the items below and then rush over to her shop before we snatch everything up for ourselves!

1. Nautical Blank Spiral Notebooks
2. Ultrabright Calling Card
3. Rainy Day Blank Greeting Card
4. Navy Damask Spiral Notebooks

5. Almost Done To Do List Notepad
6. Kitchen Herbs Blank Greeting Cards Set
7. Heart Mom Blank Card
8. Mini Memo Sticky Notes

Want to learn more about a Quick Study? Be sure to check out her website, Twitter, Facebook, and blog.

P.S. Zoe ... You're It!!

Found ~ Landfill Hill Bookmarks

Saturday, May 15, 2010

I'm not sure the exact sequence of events that led to my landing in Landfill Hill's Etsy shop but I do know that it involved Twitter. {thank you, Twitter!} Jenn makes awesome fabric covered bookmarks made from rescued vintage sheets. What can I say .. they are fabric and I adore them! Thanks, Jenn for shipping them so quickly! They arrived today beautifully packaged and I am already using them!

Be sure to check out her shop and show her some love. Not only does she use vintage fabrics and make cute products but she is super sweet as well.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Love This ... Fuschia Double Wrap Around Bracelet

Thursday, March 18, 2010

I found this bracelet cruising through Craftgawker and instantly fell in love with the bright pink waxed Irish linen intertwined with sterling silver beads from Be Charmed Designs. The bracelet comes in more colors but the bright fuschia is my favorite.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish ...

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Thought I'd jump in with a little St. Patrick's Day project I did today using super cute printable circles stickers from Posh Pixels Design Studio on Etsy. If you haven't already, you've really got to check out her shop. Her stickers for Hershey Kisses are just a tiny sampling of her genius.

She sends you the file in pdf form so all you have to do is print it out ~ too easy! On a side note, she suggested using full sheet size labels but I couldn't find any at our Office Depot. I improvised and got the Avery Internet Shipping Labels which has two big labels per sheet.

After printing them, I used my cool Marvy 3/4" circle punch and punched out all the stickers.

Then it was just a matter of peeling them and putting them on the kisses. I would have had more kisses but well, someone (who shall remain nameless) decided to open the bag a few days ago and well, an open bag of kisses just doesn't last too long in our house. Anyway, the finished kisses are adorable and if any make it through tonight, I'll share them with mom tomorrow. I should probably go ahead and hide them now.

Sorry for the late post but I hope everyone had a happy (and pinch-free) St. Patty's Day!

Tweet Me

Friday, February 12, 2010

Twitter ... I don't know quite what to say about Twitter. The only reason we opened our Twitter account is because that's what we thought we had to do. Never in a million years did I think I would ever have a Twitter account; but we wanted to market the shop and it seemed like Twitter was a "must-have" thing to do. We had no idea who would follow us, how to get followers, or what we'd actually say.

To think back to those first days, it was kinda scary. By nature, I am an extremely shy person and always have been. To this day, I still struggle with tweets. Always a little hesitant as to whether or not what I have to say has any merit or would just come off as silly. (FYI .. social anxiety sucks!)

It wasn't until we got TweetDeck that Twitter changed for us. We started basically chatting with our followers and those we followed. We made friends ... but wait, wasn't Twitter supposed to be all about marketing?? We've made friends with such a broad range of people and it's been so rewarding! Now, I logon to Twitter to see what our friends have to say .. to keep in touch .. to say HI and see what's new. Yes, we still market some but it's so much more than that. We've me people we never would have met otherwise and now I couldn't imagine a day without Twitter. Crazy!!

Not only are our Twitter friends fun to talk to but most have super cool Etsy shops! Here's just a few of the items you can find ...

I can't wait to see who we "meet" next!

Sunny Days..Please

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

It has been so cold, wet, and gray this winter that I wish I could crawl back in bed and not wake up until spring. As I write this I'm listening to the weather forecast which shows the coldest temperatures that we've had in 10 years! Uggh ...

To lift my spirits, I went snooping around Etsy today to find the sunniest, most citrus-y items I could find. Hope you enjoy!

11 Days 'til Christmas ... Help!!

Monday, December 14, 2009

So sorry ... we have completely fallen behind on our blog posting and Christmas shopping and Christmas tree buying and so many other things. Good news though is we have been really busy with the Etsy store. I had no idea our water bottles would be as popular as they are. We've actually run out twice ... so stressful and such a learning experience.

The fabric shop has been put on temporary hold just until we can get past Christmas and then it's full steam ahead. Just the thought of all that pretty fabric gets me super excited!

Hearts and Followers

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

What a great day! We started off receiving a very nice comment from Jennifer Paganelli (Hi, Jennifer ... thank you for being our first commenter and first follower on Twitter ... that was awesome!) and followed with getting our state sales tax number, finally setting up our Twitter page, actually getting followers (how cool is that?!), and even got some more products added to the Etsy shop. Now we just need to get the rest of our products up. Hopefully I can get some pictures taken tonight and get the tote bags up. The tote bags are great ... I promise ... you'll see ... just as soon as I get the pictures taken!!

The Etsy shop seems to be doing pretty good. We've gotten a few hearts ... we love getting hearts! Now if we could just make our first sale!! As giddy as we get just receiving a heart, I don't know what we will do when we do finally make that first sale! Yes, there quite possibly could be a happy dance involved and maybe even a run around the block set to Queen's "We are the Champions"! All options are possible at this point!

Well, time to work on some pictures ... :)
