Just In ... Lila Tueller Spirit

We are now stocking Lila Tueller fabrics! Woohoo! Her latest collection is named Spirit and is simply beautiful. We fell in love with the bold colors and knew that we had to get some for the shop. How could we resist the bold pinks and greens?!

Plus I love the names of the fabrics .. Exuberance, Joy, and Solace.  Such great names!

This is our first Lila Tueller collection and our first fabrics from Moda but definitely won't be our last.  We hope you'll enjoy this collection as much as we do.

Coming Soon ... Paradise by Pat Bravo

We just received word this morning that Paradise, the new Pat Bravo collection from Art Gallery Fabrics, is on a UPS truck headed in our direction! This will be the first Pat Bravo collection that we stock and we're already looking ahead to the next ones.

Pat was inspired by a trip to Paris and has said that everything she saw there was like she was in paradise, hence the name. The prints are beautiful and the colors .. deep plum, pink, fuchsia, and green are gorgeous.

We should have Paradise in the shop and ready to ship out on Friday, August 20th!  I just love getting new fabrics in!  Any ideas for what we should make first with these gorgeous fabrics?

A Scrappy Project - Patchwork Tea Towel

I must admit I am in desperate need of some scrap organization!  Right now I throw all scraps regardless of size into this bowl I keep on the cutting table.

When it gets to the point that not one more itty-bitty scrap will fit, I empty the bowl into a gallon Ziploc bag.  I now have several Ziplock bags full of awesome scraps of various sizes but have yet to make anything.  That finally changed this weekend! 

While shopping at Target on Friday, I came across some plain white flour sack towels and had a light bulb moment.  I remembered a blog post I had seen on Film in the Fridge a long time ago where she used scraps to gussy up a rather boring tea towel.  Perfect!

I got home, pre-washed my towel and got to work sorting my scraps ... oh my!  I really should have put more thought into organizing these as I went. 

 

After finding several scraps from the very pretty and super fun Valori Wells' Nest collection that were all at least 4" tall, my design was set.  I got to work cutting the scraps and sewing them together.  I've never made anything patchwork before and this was a lot of fun!

 

After I got them all sewed together, I pinned it to the tea towel about 3" from the bottom.

 

The result?  An easy way to turn a boring, white towel and with scraps only turn it into a super fabulous tea towel that makes me smile when I use it!

Of course now that I've made me one, Mom is demanding one of her own!  I started to make one just like this but I think I'm going to try something a little different out of some of her favorite fabrics, Cloud9 Beyond the Sea. It's going to be a surprise so you'll just have to stay tuned to see!

Just In ... Opal Owl by Tina Givens

How adorable is Opal Owl by Tina Givens?  This is such a fun collection of fabric and Opal's face just cracks me up! I've already snagged some of the Trellis and Bark in Aqua to make some PJs and they are turning out really cute.  So cute that I'm afraid when I get them finished I might not ever take them off. LOL

I'd stock up now if I were you ... I don't see the super cute Opal hanging around our shop long.  Can't wait to see what everyone makes!

Coming Soon ... Geo Grand from Daisy Janie

Just got word today that Daisy Janie's debut collection is on it's way to our shop ~ woohoo! Geo Grand is a great new organic collection full of bold geometric designs and colors.



Jan DiCintio is a one-woman show who self-produced this gorgeous line of organic fabric - Go, Jan! The fabric is 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton and would look great in home designs.



Congratulations to Jan on her debut collection! The fabric should be available to purchase some time next week so stay tuned.

Open for Business

Lola Pink Fabrics on Etsy is officially up and running! We are so excited to finally have the fabrics in stock and ready to be cut. They are all SO pretty!

We've always thought that the pictures used on most websites just don't do justice to how truly pretty these fabrics are on the bolt. Not to mention, most of the time you can't get a good feel for how big or small the pattern really is. Although it requires a tremendous amount of more work for us, we've decided to photograph every bolt and show the photo in the Etsy listing. So rather than just teasing you with a little snippet of the print, you will get to see exactly how it looks and how pretty it truly is in the hopes that you will love the fabrics as much as we do.
