Market Special and Other Tidbits

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

For those that don't know .... We're going to our very first Quilt Market this weekend! Woohoo!! I can barely wrap my head around how exciting it's going to be. The latest fabric designs, meeting the designers, new quilt patterns ... oh-my! How in the world did I get lucky enough to be able to attend something as exciting as Quilt Market?

Market Special

Unfortunately, our trip to Market means that our shops will be closed while we're gone. You'll still be able to take a look around and place orders but any orders placed from Thursday, October 28th through Sunday, October 31st won't ship until Monday, November 1st. So what can we do to compensate you for the delayed shipping? Why offer a Market Special while we're gone of course!

Choose all the fabrics that you want (including new arrivals and sale fabrics) and get 10% off all orders above $50 and 15% off all orders above $100 now through Sunday, October 31st. Pretty sweet deal right?!

Nothing would make us more excited than to come home to a gazillion orders.

Market Updates

Want to know what it's like to be at Market with us? Make sure you stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook feeds starting Friday morning. We will be tweeting and facebooking (?) as much as possible while jumping from class-to-class and booth-to-booth. You'll also want to stay tuned to the blog as well. We'll have a full market wrap-up on the blog upon our return. :)

For those that haven't signed up already, make sure you enter your email address in the upper-righthand corner of the blog and sign up for our newsletter. You'll receive special news, deals, and giveaways that you won't see anywhere else directly in your inbox. We promise we will never get spammy on you and will never, ever give your information to anyone else.

New Arrivals

Did you see we got Pat Bravo's Modern Affair collection in stock? We've already been shipping it out so don't miss out on getting some of this gorgeous fabric for yourself. This weekend would be a great time to get some for your stash at a discounted rate!

Coming Soon

We got word earlier this week that we should be expecting Lila Tueller's new collection Isabella very, very soon. I just love how bright and bold this collection is. How fabulous is Lila's new pattern The London Dress made using the Isabella fabrics? Right now we stock her London Dress pattern for girls but will definitely be picking up her new version for Women.

Pretty & Preppy at Market

As if going to Market wasn't exciting enough, some of our Pretty & Preppy travel mugs will actually be used in a designer's booth display! Too insane for words!! Felicity Miller asked if they could use some of our mugs made from her Gypsy collection in her booth and how could we say no?! How crazy will it be to be walking around Market and come across our Pretty & Preppy travel mugs. We might just die on the spot. We will definitely get pictures!

Whew ... I think that's about all I wanted to cover for today. It's now time for me to get up and start packing!

Fabric in Action - Dance Floor Geo Grand Quilt

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Oh my! I came across this fabulous quilt design on Daisy Janie's blog today and just had to share it. So pretty!

Jan worked with Juile of Jaybird Quilts to come up with design that would really show off the "geo" part of the Geo Grand collection and boy did they! I love the geometric design of this quilt. Makes my little engineer heart sing!

Even more exciting is that we will be able to admire the quilt in person when it's displayed in the Daisy Janie booth at Quilt Market! Yippee! You cannot even imagine how excited we are to go this year. I can't even wrap my head around all the fabulous fabric and quilts we're going to see.{sigh}

Sorry .. got lost in Quilt Market thoughts there for a moment. Please let me know if you are interested in making this quilt and we will get in touch with Julie and order the pattern. We can also make it into a kit with all the fabrics and you'll be good to go. In case you didn't know, we've got Daisy Janie's Geo Grand fabrics on sale right now. A great pattern and discounted fabrics ~ score!

Just shoot me an email if you're interested in the pattern and we will get some on order. This pattern makes such great use of the Geo Grand fabrics. I would love to see one of our fabulous customers make it.

Coming Soon ... Modern Affair by Pat Bravo

Monday, October 18, 2010

We are so excited today! {happy dance} We just got word that the new Pat Bravo collection Modern Affair is on its way to us! Yippee!! This is such a gorgeous collection. Just take a look at the mix of lime green, orange, turquoise and gray ...

In Pat's words, a Modern Affair is "an affair with texture and color. Hand drawn florals, a modern take on feathers, and stunning art nouveau wallpapers are mixed with today’s organic trend. Explosive Shades of turquoise and orange with neutral grays give these prints an eclectic feel." Such a great description for this fabulous collection.

As with all of the collections we stock in the shop, I cannot wait to get my hands on this one. The mix of colors and the prints are simply to die for. Definitely a swoon-worthy collection.

We're going to go ahead and open this one up for pre-order. It should arrive in the shop by the latest on Friday which means we can turn around and start shipping it out on Saturday. Woot!!

We would love to know which print in the collection is your favorite. It's such a hard choice for me but I'm thinking Rose Garden in Mint is my fave.

A Perfect Pairing - Sprout + Shattered in Punch

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Yes, I'm still crushing over Innocent Crush today and if I had a little girl (or if little Perry Margaret were a wee bit older), I would absolutely make the Make It Perfect Sprout dress with the Shattered in Punch fabric from the Innocent Crush collection.

Love it! I also think First Impression in Fruit would look fabulous as well if you wanted something a bit more bold.

Has anyone used the Sprout pattern yet? We would LOVE to see pictures! Be sure to upload your pictures to our Flickr Group. Actually if you've made anything with our fabrics, we would love for you to share your pictures. I never fail to get inspired when I see what others are making. How about you?

Crushing Hard - Innocent Crush by Anna Maria Horner

Monday, October 11, 2010

Oh my! I am crushing so hard over Innocent Crush by Anna Maria Horner! I cannot get over how rich and fabulous her color choices are.

We've had it in the shop now for a little over a week and it's still the collection that catches my eye and makes me catch my breath. The bold patterns just draw me right in.

So fabulous!!  These fabrics would look great as a quilt, or a big, oversized bag, or jacket ... oh my! {sigh}How am I ever going to decide where to start with this collection? And where am I ever going to find the time to sew it all?? ARRG ... such is my life right now. Changes are a comin' though  ... I can feel it!{fingers crossed}

Surely I'm not the only one crushing hard over Innocent Crush? Anyone else falling head-over-heels in love like I am? Would love to hear your ideas as to how best to show off these
fabulous fabrics.
